Question: Mean and Median of Set T

Comment on Mean and Median of Set T

Do we first have to check whether the number of integers is odd? Or does this rule apply for any number of values? I am a bit confused right now.

Thanks,

Philipp

The rule applies to any set of equally-spaced numbers.

Take, for example, the set: {10, 15, 20, 25}
Here, the mean = 17.5 and the median = 17.5

Now consider the set: {6, 9, 12, 15, 18}
Here, the mean = 12 and the median = 12

Does that help?

Cheers,
Brent

Totally, thanks Brent!

I struggled a bit to find the median at first but I suddenly realize that rule and chose 0 immediately
